The Client

Bitesize UK are pioneers in online training delivering thousands of courses in easy to learn bite size chunks.

The Challenge

Bitesize were approached to provide a ‘white label’ solution for two of their largest customers so that their own staff could log on to a branded learning environment. At the same time the SCORM standard, which allows learning content to be shared across different environments, was being widely adopted across the industry. Their existing portal did not facilitate either so Bitesize was in danger of missing out on some exciting business opportunities.

The Paramount Solution

We designed a new web solution, which allows them to offer white label or branded portals for specific clients. All the training content is held on a central database and is accessible to all companies that have the appropriate licenses. Individual learners can track training, take tests and receive printable certificates, and administrators within the customer’s organisation can track who has taken up which training. We also built tools to assist in the migration of existing course materials into SCORM format.

The site continues to evolve to become more easily accessible, for example via a mobile-friendly interface.

Results

The new portal has opened up the market for Bitesize in several ways. They now provide branded learning environments to major companies including Biffa and B&Q. Because they are SCORM compliant they can offer a wider range of training and generate additional revenue by selling their own content to other providers.
